Update
Over 3,000 books were distributed to over 100 families in the district this Winter!
December 2015
Starting in August, I collected books for underprivileged children in the North Colonie School District. Due to the generous support of members of the community, I collected over 8,000 books and over $2,300 to buy new books. Scholastic Books also provided a 50% match of monetary donations. I was able to buy hundreds of new books for the children of the district.
Each child was given at least ten books, including three brand new books. Some families were given more than 60 books!
Thank you to Scholastic, The Little Book House, CapCom, and the community for their support!
October 2016
Along with distributing books to students in the North Colonie School District this Holiday season, I will be donating approximately 2,000 books to the Cohoes Holiday Hope Program. This program provides over 1,000 underprivileged students in the Cohoes School District with free gifts as a reward for being more involved in the district. Each parent will be able to pick out books for their children, and the remaining books will be used as incentives for good behavior in the elementary schools.
Thank you to everyone who donated!
